Pinnacle Hills Arts Festival postponed until 2012
We'd like to thank everyone for their interest in our new fine art festival in Rogers. Your support of our work is always humbling and your faith that we will lead you to a successful event with plenty of art buyers is an honor we do take seriously. We work for you, the artists, and do not want to risk you in expectations when there isn’t enough booth fees to cover the advertising needed to bring out the art buyers.
When I began working with Pinnacle Hills Promenade in May, I knew that trying to put a fine art festival together and get the word to the artists was a huge challenge in 8 weeks. The Pinnacle Hills Promenade mall team really wanted and needed the festival to take place in 2011. I was fearfully optimistic that we would be able to bring in at least 70 artists for the first year. With 70 artists we could spend $10,000 on media to promote the show, pay for all the logistics and still break even.
We received 37 artist applications and after jury it was down to 34 invited artists. With this few fine artists, we are unable to put the art festival together with the promotion you expect of us and we need to deliver. To go forward with only 26 artists we would lose more than $35,000 and we just don’t have it to lose. So we are postponing the festival to 2012.
We will be mailing out refunds as soon as we get them and the zapp check. If you applied for the show, we will refund your application fee and your booth fee. If you paid on Zapp, we should be able to send you your full refund by August 15. For those who have mailed checks directly, we have not cashed them and will be voiding the check out and mailing it back to you along with your application fee. We apologize for this and hope you understand our situation. It is better for LWP to lose $7000 instead of $35,000. I hope you understand our decision.
Pinnacle Hills Promenade plans on continuing their current art and vendor booths for that weekend, as they have done for the last couple years. It will take place Friday night and Saturday, September 9 & 10 and there will be a stage with local/regional music and a couple food booths.
Again, we are disappointed that we are unable to produce the Pinnacle Hills Fine Art Festival this year. We will have the 2012 Pinnacle Hills Promenade Fine Art Festival on our show calendar and get the information out early to the artists and hopefully will have a very successful 2012. Artists that applied this year will be invited automatically.
Please email or call if you have questions or concerns. We hope to see you at our other shows this fall. If you would like to transfer your booth credit for either Georgetown Art In the Square or The Shops At La Cantera Art Festival, please contact us.
Warmest Wishes for a successful fall!
